Welcome to my blog, everyone!
I would like to talk about my new novel Quest for Eden: The Mission, which is debuting March first, 2010. This novel is the first in a series, a trilogy, of novels set in pre-flood days. Hod, a descendent of Seth is hunted by the nephilim and must help to bring about their eventual destruction in the flood. This novel is a combination of theology, adventure, and fantasy.
While I've tried to stay as biblically accurate as possible, by necessity I had to invent and imagine what the early world was like as well as create suspenseful situations for the characters. I particularly like the chapter where Hod meets the old serpent from the Garden of Eden.
Writing this story was an adventure for me. Previously I had written Christian historical romance novels and did not think about writing a fantasy adventure. A few years ago I had written an introductory chapter to this book but had put it aside as not something I was really equipped to write. Later, with the encouragement of my writers group and my children, I took the story back up and finished it within five months.
The most enjoyable part about this type of writing is that I have created a world that lives now inside my brain. I know what it looks like and what the characters are like and cannot wait to get the second one finished. The second book is called The Fifth River and should be finished by the end of the year.
I hope my readers will take a chance on the first book and then let me know what you think of it. It is available on Amazon, but if you will contact me I will be able to let you have it at a discount.
In this blog I intend to talk about the writing of the second book, as well as other projects I have going. I will also answer any questions asked me about the first book.
